Scouts is for boys and girls aged 11 to 14 and is the most well known section of the Scouting Movement – Scouts is where the action is!
Action is at the core of all Scouting activities. Whether they are tackling a river in a kayak or learning knot tying at a Troop meeting,
our program ensures that our Scouts never stand still!
Scouts participate in a huge range of activities including, abseiling, caving, hiking, photography, orienteering, performance arts,
bush survival skills, tying and using knots, learn about water safety, camping, cooking... and more!
Scouts are divided up into Patrols of 4-8 members, autonomous groups within the Troop and led by a Patrol Leader with an Assistant Patrol Leader.
The Patrol system encourages Scouts to 'do it on their own' as the Patrol makes their own decisions, set critical goals, and depend on each other to succeed.
And when you do succeed, you can earn achievement badges!
Scouts must progress to the Venturer Scout Section by their 15th birthday.
The linking process would start at approximately 14 years and six months, depending on their individual readiness, socially and intellectually.
